Leadership & Governance
The leadership and governance team plays a significant role in orienting and drawing the school community towards its vision. This is done when the team systematically identifies, clearly outlines and effectively communicates the elements of success that jointly define the vision while energizing the key players who Interact with these elements towards congruently reaching different predefined targets that together eventually move the school forward. For this to happen, it is incumbent upon the team to always ensure consistent fidelity to the school mission and philosophy and to see to it that the whole strategic plan is deliberately implemented.
The leadership and governance team of DCHS therefore has to ensure that the right school schedules, programmes and systems are in place and that suitable staff members able to successfully operate within these frameworks are appropriately placed and motivated to work towards realizing the school targets cascaded down to them.
Goal
To establish a robust and hierarchal school leadership and governance structure that accurately places a highly motivated workforce into a well pre-organised and conducive school programme and system to favour whollistic staff and student excellence while bringing about a sense of school patriotism and joint ownership by its stakeholders.
Objectives
- Initiate a staff focused agenda geared at attracting, retaining, skilling, energizing and rewarding competent; staff by term 1 2015 for the attainment school goals.
- Ensure implementation of all meeting resolutions reached by management at all levels.
- Ensure all school programmes are effectively implemented.
- Align reward mechanisms with staff competence and delivery by beginning of 2015.
- Ensure Board of Governors effectively play their role in managing school.
- Refine existing communication channels that generally make communication more effective.
- Improve on team cohension and delivery at all levels especially at top levels.
- Streamline on record keeping modality.
- Increase the fidelity of school towards guiding documents that are from time to time put in place e g. strategic plan, termly and annual budgets, action plans, codes of conduct, etc.
